About the Book
It's time for Jack Frost to learn his lesson!

Best friends Kirsty Tate and Rachel Walker usually only get to spend vacations and holidays with each other. But for a special week, they'll both be going to the same school! It's a good thing the two friends are together. Jack Frost is causing trouble at the Fairyland School--and the School Day Fairies need help!

Rachel and Kirsty have to work quickly to help Marissa recover her missing magic science badge. If they don't get it back, science class will never be the same!

My Take on the Book
Performing science experiments require careful measuring and following explicit directions. The children are eager to work in the school garden, use magnifying glasses and use rulers to measure, however Marissa, the science fairy is unable to make sure their science experiments are successful. A goblin has stolen her gold medal which she used to ensure the students ' success.

Kristy and Rachel, Marissa's human friends, are eager to assist Marissa in retrieving the medal. Once again the girls are able to trick the goblins, retrieve the medal and the science experiments are successful for the superintendent's visit.

As the story ends Kristy and Rachel discuss the fact that three more gold medals are still missing. This of course indicates there will be more chapter books about finding the gold medals and returning to their rightful fairy owners.

Daisy Meadows writes the chapter books for students in grades second through third grades. The reading level is on the fourth grade.
