My Take on the Book
I was always impressed with the reporting and class of Mr. Rather. I used to watch him on the news for many years and I was in complete shock when he was let go from his post on the evening news. This book is a testament to his career and allows the reader to see behind the scenes of many of the highlights of the days when he was reporting. The book gives so much insight into the background of this icon. What I loved was the open and honest dialogue that Mr. Rather has with his readers as you continue to get to see the journalist behind the man that many of us got to know and love over the years. The book was an easy read that will keep you engaged from beginning to end (at least it did for me).

Not a Dan Rather fan personally, but my grandparents have constantly watched and trusted his viewpoint for years -- I'm sure this book will appeal to them on just that reason. Any recommendation as far as audio book reviews -- its what they prefer. I know the audio book is being featured on this great literary AM talk radio show I follow called The Book Report -- its aired here in New York on WOR 710 and I catch up online as well. I think I'll check out that review and then decide.
